Wedding and Shower Parties
As far as the Social Events go wedding parties top the list. There is no other social event that brings such a warm feeling as a wedding. The Wedding Reception is when the fun really begins and is what every body involved anticipates and looks forward to, but lets not forget about the pre wedding parties that precede the big day can be equally fun and more so
Let us begin with the Engagement Party for instance, what a great way to announce upcoming nuptials to ones well wishers and loved ones? Traditionally this event is held by the parents of the bride after a month or so of the couple’s announcement of their engagement, but like everything else there are no set rules and the engagement parties can be held earlier and anywhere, at home, at a restaurant or where ever the host prefers. These parties are as a tradition for the purpose of introducing the bride and the groom to each other’s family members and close friends and hence are intimate affairs. Typically no gifts are exchanged at these events. Invitations can be informal and can be verbal or hand written. If there is a need to plan for the food include an RSVP
After the Engagement Party comes the all familiar Bachelor/Bachelorette Party. The days of typical bachelor party consisting of a wild night of drinking and debauchery is giving way to more coordinated and themed events. These events are held typically the night before the wedding but with time this trend is changing as well and these parties are held much earlier now.
And then comes the the Wedding Shower which are great social events designed to give the soon-to-be couple the things they'll need when they move into their new home together. These days wedding showers are themed affairs, and can be anything from a spa shower to a shopping shower in which the wedding gifts would include things the couple could use on their honeymoon adventures or in their house. Wedding showers are typically held few weeks before the wedding date and only those guests who have been invited to the wedding are invited to the wedding shower. It's also a way to add to a bride's trousseau and can be used as knowing what unique wedding favors and special gift ideas for the guests would be suitable. It can also give you an idea of Bridesmaid Gifts.
And finally comes the Rehearsal Dinner. This is a time to relax before the big day and get prepared for the wedding. Typically Rehearsal dinners are for the bridal party only and held immediately after the wedding rehearsal. They're held early so all can rest up and are usually at the home of the bride or groom's parent or at a restaurant.
All these social events build the anticipation for the wedding reception fun, gifts and warmth and are also a way to get to know each other’s friends and relatives.
